First Impressions & Arrival in Puebla
Introducing Janica and the Mexico Adventure
Hello, fellow adventurers! My name's Janica, and I'm thrilled you're joining me on this month-long Mexican escapade. We're kicking things off in Puebla, a city that pleasantly surprised me – I barely knew it existed before this trip! It's the second-to-last stop on a six-month Latin American backpacking journey, and, yes, that’s a little bittersweet. But for now, let's focus on the fun.
Puebla is a few hours from Mexico City, and apparently quite large and beautiful. Yesterday, we checked into a lovely hotel – a little treat for ourselves as the end of our travels approaches. Today's plan? Breakfast, then a wander around the city to soak up the atmosphere. Let’s explore!
Arrival and Hotel Experience in Puebla
Arriving in Puebla after our long journey felt like a welcome relief. We'd decided to treat ourselves to a nicer hotel for this leg of our trip, a small indulgence as we neared the end of our six-month adventure. The hotel itself was a pleasant surprise; spacious and comfortable, a welcome haven after a day of travel.
Our room was surprisingly large, boasting a huge bathroom and a wonderfully comfortable bed. But the real highlight? The view! From our window, we looked directly onto the magnificent Puebla Cathedral, its grandeur a stunning backdrop to our late afternoon arrival. The cathedral's imposing architecture and vibrant surroundings were visible from our window, a spectacular way to start getting acquainted with the city. It was the perfect way to unwind after a long day of travel.
