Chasing the Bloom: A Tulip Field Adventure
Exploring Vibrant Tulip Fields
My first stop was a smaller, family-run tulip farm. Getting there involved a bus ride and a surprisingly pleasant two-kilometer walk – a good way to start the day, especially on such a sunny one. The fields themselves were breathtaking; rows upon rows of vibrant color stretching to the horizon. It exceeded even my optimistic expectations.
I'd pre-booked a one-hour tour (a steal at €7.95!), and I'm so glad I did. The farmer was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating facts about tulip cultivation and the business of flower farming. It was more than just pretty pictures; I gained a real appreciation for the hard work and expertise involved. The tour even included access to fields not open to the general public – a real bonus.
After the tour, I explored the farm's free show garden. It was a smaller collection of varieties but still offered a fantastic opportunity for some stunning photographs. The sheer variety of colors and forms was simply incredible. I could have happily spent hours just wandering among the blooms.
Leaving this first location, I opted for public transport, a slightly longer journey than if I’d had a car, but it allowed for some lovely sightseeing along the way. This unplanned detour only added to the charm of the day, highlighting the unexpected joys of exploring by bus and foot.
