The Journey to Mostar: A Scenic Bus Ride
From Dubrovnik to Mostar: The Bus Journey Begins
Our adventure began, as many do, at a bus stop. Specifically, a Dubrovnik bus stop, where we waited – and waited – for our Mostar-bound transport. The scheduled departure was 4 PM; reality was closer to 5:25 PM. Let’s just say punctuality wasn’t a strong suit of our chosen carrier. I documented the whole thing, of course, for my ever-patient vlog viewers.
Two hours later, we were finally on board. Twenty-two euros lighter, and considerably more cramped. The seats were, to put it mildly, snug. But hey, the price was reasonable enough considering the views we were promised. And promised they were, indeed.
The journey itself was stunning. We started with a coastal drive, the Adriatic Sea shimmering beside us. Then, the landscape transformed; we wound our way through dramatic mountain passes. Honestly, the scenery made up for the initial delay, and the slightly less-than-spacious seating. Even a planned rest stop in a charming, nameless town, added to the adventure.
The journey, originally slated for three and a half hours, ultimately stretched to nearly six. That extra hour certainly contributed to the general feeling of 'we made it!' as we stepped onto Bosnian soil – a new country checked off my travel list! Our arrival in Mostar was smooth enough, and a quick meeting with our apartment's owner, brimming with local tips, set the stage for a fantastic few days to come.
